My Background

I come from Kinston, North Carolina, which is the definition of a small town. From the time I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer because I would ask so many questions that my grandmother would tell me I sounded like a lawyer from Philly.

After I graduated high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a degree in political science in 1998. I was accepted to the Howard University School of Law in August 1999 and passed the bar exam in 2003. At that time, I had the fortune of working with Brian K. McDaniel, an outstanding criminal defense attorney who owns his own law firm.

This is when I began working with cases involving family law, landlord/tenant disputes, criminal law, and personal injury. I quickly found that personal injury was the practice area that best fit my skills and interest. Under the guidance of Mr. McDaniel, I became proficient at handling all types of personal injury claims and winning settlements for our clients.

In 2007, after four years of gratifying work with Mr. McDaniel, I decided that I had gained the necessary experience and expertise to open my own personal injury firm. Since then, I have had the good fortune of being able to settle hundreds of claims through mediation, arbitration, bench trials, and jury trials.
