Crash Alert: Man killed in Arlington motorcycle accident

ARLINGTON, VA – According to WTOP News, a man was killed last night when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a pole. The crash took place on Walter Reed Drive near S Wakefield Street at around 7:45 p.m.

27-year-old Gilberto Portillo-Solorzano was riding a motorcycle southbound on Walter Reed Dr when he lost control of the vehicle, hit a pole and was thrown from his motorcycle. Police say Portillo-Solorzano was driving at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

This accident remains under investigation at this time.
