Attorney Profile

Duane O. King

My name is Duane King, and I want to thank you again for visiting my site. I'm originally from a small town called Kinston, North Carolina. Ever since I can remember, the only profession I ever said that I wanted to be was a lawyer. You can blame that on my maternal grandmother as she would grow tired of me asking so many questions, and would say, "You just like a Philadelphia Lawyer, asking me all these questions!" Of course at such a young age, I really didn't know what being a lawyer or practicing law entailed, it just felt right, so I went with it.

After graduating from high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science in 1998. I then matriculated into the Howard University School of Law in August 1999. Upon graduating from Howard and passing the Bar Exam in 2003, I began the practice of law under the tutelage of Brian K. McDaniel, a noted criminal defense attorney. In this capacity I handled several different types of matters that included cases involving family law, landlord tenant, criminal law, and last but not least personal injury.

I quickly took a liking to practicing personal injury as it fit my strengths, and I became very efficient at handling and settling cases. In 2007, I was able to open my own solo practice dedicated to personal injury law. In this time I have settled hundreds of claims through arbitrations, mediations, bench trials, and jury trials. I believe that my southern roots and upbringing give my clients a sense of comfort and trust, and assures them that their case is in good hands. The most gratifying aspect of my job is the words of appreciation I receive from my clients upon resolution of their case.
